  1. The difficult question of whether or not to use hormone replacement therapy remains unresolved.
  2. Women who are premenopausal may need to be cautioned about taking aspiring in the 2 weeks prior to their menses if their bleeding is excessive with this medication.
  3. Observational data suggesting that women seem to benefit from the sue of hormones to prevent heart disease was no borne out in the HERS and WHI studies.
  4. Many women have gone back to taking hormones because of quality of life issues:
    1. depression
    2. anxiety
    3. lack of sleep
    4. hot flashes
    5. and others
  5. The question is raised as to whether Statins can ameliorate the potential harmful effects of HRT (conjugated equine estrogen and medroxyprogesterone). Only research will tell.
