Exercise Progress
On January 2, 2019, the second day of my retirement, I began a new exercise program.
Today, March 21, 2919, I began a new iteration of that program. I expanded my program to four miles a day. I started at one mile and after a week began two miles. After a month, I expanded to three miles. At the same time, I increased my speed.
My new program as of today is four miles a day with the expectation of reaching my goal of five miles a day by July or August.
The guide I use to decide when to increase my program is; one, do I have any pain, and two, am I fully recovered from one day’s exercise before the next day.
Other principles are: the willingness to take a day off if necessary, the willingness to slow down if I don’t feel well, and the recognition that endurance, persistence and safety are cardinal principles.
