Letters - Emma’s Graduation Belt Buckle

This is my high school graduation gift from my mother’s life long high school friend. I received it May 23, 1961 and I gave it to Emma in May, 2019.

Pictures of Emma’s parents and Grandmother at graduation. Tonight I gave Emma a gift I have had for 58 years. On May 25, 1961, the day I graduated from high school, my mother’s high school friend gave me a sterling silver belt buckle with some gold on it.

The proviso is that in 58 years which will be in 2077, Emma will give it to her granddaughter which will be 116 years from when I received it. Below are pictures of Emma and the belt buckle.

The first is the commencement address I presented at the graduation.

The second is a letter I wrote one of the graduate’s father 23 years ago,

The third is the text of a booklet I wrote 30 years ago on how to survive college with a vibrant faith.

The fourth is Carolyn’s graduation letter to Emma.
