Subject: RE: Celebrating the last day of SETMA's 18th Year -- a brief outline of our hstory -- for the future -- Kaizen-
SETMA allows their patients the opportunity, and in fact, encourages prevention of health issues as well as treatment following illness. It is a blessing to be a part of a group that is so forward-thinking to provide many facets of the health care team in one place- in the place that it belongs-primary care. I believe that SETMA is the only Primary Care organization that employs RDs and CDEs and is ADA Recognized for Diabetes Education in our area. That is groundbreaking, as most are still in hospitals. Is physical therapy available in many primary care settings?
Previous experiences were disheartening for me in my field, as dietetics services and education would often be offered after a patient developed very challenging health problems. It is so fulfilling that at SETMA we are invited to visit with patients early and hopefully help them live a better quality of life for a longer period of time as well as being fortunate to have a system that allows information to flow easily from one team member to another.
The honors and awards are fantastic, the writings are encouraging, but the heart of SETMA-a team caring of people who put patients first every day, is amazing. I am so grateful to be a part of an organization of people who want to make a difference. This might be why we are a happy group.
Happy Anniversary to you and Mrs. Holly!
